Hello, I’m Karmen.
and I can’t wait to help you achieve the homeschool life you won’t be embarrassed over. you can turn your strong willed child from whining over not wanting to do the lessons to one who eagerly looks up information and actively learns.
I love listening to my son talk in depth about the space shuttles, President Lincoln, and computer tech. All of these topics he chose to learn about on his own.
But it didn’t start out that way!
I started to homeschool my younger son with rose colored glasses on. I taught him to read, what an amazing privilege.
The older he got, the more his strong willed side rose to the surface. He would rather spend 2 hours at the table whining about the assignment than the 10 minutes he could have got it done in. Most lessons he resisted with both feet firmly planted on the ground….uhm….excuse me?
Then I started to look at things differently because it sure wasn’t working. I had to figure out how to change our homeschool to have him want to learn and get excited about learning things, and not just do an assignment to get it checked off the list.
I needed to stop worrying about what others would think about our homeschool and figure out how to help my son gain skills and knowledge to survive in this world.
And that’s exactly what this checklist is all about.
-You will make a plan to change the way you are homeschooling to be effective.
– Organize a way for your child to come back from the dark side and productively work together.
-Design a new way for your child to learn eagerly.
-Get your running shoes on to keep up with your child as you have adventures together soaking up all they can learn.
